Amanda L. Baden, Ph.D. is een transraciale geadopteerde, internationaal geadopteerd uit Hong Kong. Ze gelooft in het onderzoeken van zaken als ras, privileges, onderdrukking en macht bij adoptie om ethische en gevoelige praktijken met transraciale geadopteerden en hun families te bevorderen.

Amanda is professor en programmadirecteur in het afstudeer Counseling Program aan de Montclair State University (NJ) en ze is gediplomeerd psycholoog met een praktijk in New York City. Ze richt zich in haar onderzoek en klinische praktijk op het adoptieverwantschapsnetwerk, transraciale/internationale adoptiekwesties, raciale en culturele identiteit en multiculturele begeleidingscompetentie. Amanda was redacteur van het Handboek Adoptie: Implications for Researchers, Practitioners, and Families. Amanda is bestuurslid van de New York State Board of Psychology, adviseur van het Rudd Adoption Research Program (UMass-Amherst), bestuurslid van Creating a Family, Senior Fellow van het National Center on Adoption and Permanency, voorzitter van de tweejaarlijkse conferenties van het Adoption Initiative Biennial Conferences in NYC en Senior Fellow van het voormalige Donaldson Adoption Institute.

Amanda is Fellow voor de Counseling Psychology Division 17 van de American Psychological Association (APA). Ze ontving de John D. Black Award in 2014 van de APA en Division 17 voor de Outstanding Practice of Counseling Psychology, Outstanding Graduate Advisor voor Montclair State University in 2017, en Angel in Adoption in 2005.
