Hari Prasad Sacré

Educator and researcher

Hari Prasad Sacré is based Brussels and works as an educator and researcher. He obtained a doctoral degree in educational sciences from Ghent University with his dissertation entitled Reading Illiteracy. His PhD-research observed new forms of illiteracy arising in displaced communities travelling imperial borders. His current research focuses on the heritage language illiteracy of transnational adoptees. Overall, his academic work explores cultural translation as a pedagogical project for dialogue, solidarity and emancipation.

Hari published his work in journals such as ‘critical arts’, ‘South-North cultural and media studies’, ‘European journal for cultural studies’; and ‘Journal for Adolescent and Adult Literacies’. In 2023, he curated a cultural program featuring prof. dr. Ariella Aïsha Azoulay (Brown University, USA) about unlearning imperialism in Brussels.
